The Piece of Lighty

ScienceDaily, Researchers at UC Santa Barbara have recently demonstrated a breakthrough in the quantum control of photons, the energy quanta of light.

In the Cabala the word light is used in its higher meaning–illumination. This illumination eventually descended so low that a ephemeral particle of matter was emitted; the scientists call this the photon. Einstein predicted that light would be attracted by gravity proving the particle of light which until a 100 years ago was thought to be a wave was unaffected by gravity.

When the cabalists speak about this particle of illumination which they call Ore/Light they are speaking in the spirit world when the light of the OreAinSof/LightWithoutEnd separates from the Creator and descends into creation eventually taking on the mantle of spiritual. The physical attribution of light is an exact metaphor to the spiritual meaning of light as illumination.

Ore/Light when spelled differently, but pronounced the same means Skin. The first human being was of light, but forced from the Garden of Eden had to take on the skin of an animal to survive.

The Light of Peace

NYT ED: President Obama’s meeting this week with the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, was a reminder of how much the Palestinians and leading Arab states, starting with Saudi Arabia and Egypt, must do to help revive foundering peace negotiations.

It is astounding that never is there in all the rhetoric about peace mentioned the Torah and the Koran–both books of prophecy, both deriving from the same father, Avraham. Though these two books are the most important item to both peoples they are completely left out of negotiations. Religion is separate from politics yet in both books, Torah and Koran religion is never mentioned–there is no word in Hebrew or Arabic for religion.

Ultimately, anything that makes peoples lives better is acceptable, but peace will not come from politics; politics is antithetical to peace. In Hebrew Shalom/Peace also has the meaning of Complete because nothing is complete without peace. So important is peace that the last thousand years of the seven thousand year cycle of the human being on planet earth is devoted to peace–called the Thousand Years of Peace beginning in the year 6000–only a couple of centuries away from now 5769.

Peace will come from light and light, in the ancient times came from the olive; the olive is bitter, but it makes beautiful light. Similarly, life separated from God is bitter, but it gives us a chance for our light to shine.

Shavuot

On the sixth day of Sivan in the Hebrew calendar is celebrated for 3,321 years the event of God giving the Torah to the Jewish People on the mountain named Sinai.

In the Midrash-Book of Metaphor says before creation God asked of the Jewish Soul to go down into creation and do the 613 Commandments that are housed in the first Five Books of the Torah; at the receiving of the Torah which is considered to be a marriage ceremony between God and the Jewish People, as explained in the Cabala–the Jewish Peopled promised to do the Commandments and God promised to bring Moshiach by the year 6000, the expiration of the Hebrew calendar in a few centuries.

Shavuot is celebrated by staying up all night to study the Torah. Many people read what is known as Tikun Shavout/Fixing Shavout because the people originally went to sleep so they could received the Torah with the purity of the soul, but Moshe had to go around and awake everyone because the Torah came more for the body than the soul.

The 613 Commandments of the Jewish People combined with the Seven Commandments given to the rest of the world equal 620–Keter/Crown. When we all do our part then God is crowned.

The Despot and the King

CNN–South Korean and U.S. forces have been placed on a higher surveillance alert level, after North Korea threatened military action following its nuclear test earlier this week, the joint forces announced today.

Malchut/Royalty the last of the Ten Sefirot/Luminaries is responsible for creation; Malchut is the supernal speech that spoke creation into being from the Creator. Therefore kingdoms and kings proliferate on the earth, but what is the difference between a despot and a king?

The king has ultimate control over the people; the king can tax the people, induct them into the army and send them into war–seeking national security and independents the king can deplete the entirety of the treasury for victory. So what is the difference between a despot and a king?

It is well known in the Cabala that a king can not be a king without a people, therefore the king acts out of love for his people; the despot only thinks of himself.

Gay Marriage

The California Supreme Court will hand down a ruling on Proposition 8 banning same-sex marriage today. The ruling decides whether voters had the right to amend the state Constitution to solidify the definition of marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

The Torah is very specific about the question of marriage and sexual orientation; marriage is a contract between a man and a woman, but these laws in the Torah are meant only for the Jewish People whose men are commanded not to be sexual with another man–woman have no problem or prohibition against being with another woman.

One of the seven commandments given to the world by Noah 4000 years ago was to make laws concerning sexuality; meaning there are no specific laws and each community has the right enact their own boundaries.

The 52 percent who voted to restrain the definition of marriage to a man and a woman is indicative of twice YHVH/26 and also the gematria of Behama/Animal. Our planet is called in the Zohar-Book of Secret Tavel, a term used to indicated the commingling of animal and human because it is on this planet where the animal of the earth and the human of the soul combine.

Much of life depends upon how we dance the amoral animal with the human soul.

Memorial Day

President Obama observed Memorial Day on today just as his predecessors have: by placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Mr. Obama added a new twist: he sent a second wreath to a memorial honoring African-Americans who fought in the Civil War.

Freedom gained through war is as ironic as peace gained through war. In the Torah there are specific laws about war; war can not be waged from four sides because a way of escape must be open and tree bearing fruit can not be used to fight a war with. The human being is compared to a tree who gives fruit in their time.

The bloody battles of the last 100 years have dwarfed all that came before; the technological advances from the industrial revolution has made war a cold-blooded event. Waring for peace is a human condition, but we are promised in the future true peace, a thousand years of peace know as the 1000 years of woman–the reward for staying in the battle of life until the end.

All living beings are soldiers to the Creator, overcoming darkness and bringing light in its stead.
