Israel Goes to the Polls

Once a group of men were standing about talking politics when a horse pulling a wagon came to a stop as a wheel divided a freshly placed pile of manure evoking the following comment—there you have politics: the left, the right and the middle of the road. Politics in Israel is a matter of survival and when that survival is being threatened the country inevitably votes with the right wing that is strong on defense.

The land of Israel, the Holy Land, was never meant to be political; it was Dovid the poet-king who 3000 years ago replaced the sitting king Shaul because of his politics. Dovid’s dynasty lasts until today and even King Moshiach must be from the line of Dovid. Dovid admitted to God and submitted to the Law of the Torah.

The Land of Israel was not given to the Jewish People to erect a state, but to do the 613 Commandments as outlined in the Torah which can only be accomplished completely by living in peace on the Promised Land.
