The Drugged Economy

Drugs money worth billions of dollars kept the financial system afloat at the height of the global crisis according to the head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.

In the West the four elements of fire, air, water and earth are acknowledged because they represent the four states of matter; in the East there are five elements, earth being further divided into metal. Metal the lowest element, hard and cold is represented by money and those who pander in money tend also to be cold and hard.

Money is an expedient way of assessing worth by refining property down into metal in the same way drug dealers refine the poppy or the coco plant into heroin and cocaine. The addictive nature of money and drugs makes their mutual reliance into an inevitable symbiotic relationship.

The Cabala describes spiritual refinement as a process separating the heavy from the light–the heavy falls down to the earth. The job of the human being is to extract the good embedded in the hardness of the earth and lift it into heaven through the effort of our good deeds.

The 613 commandments in the Torah are embodied by the proscription to give Ztadaka/Charity from the word Zdadek/Righteous–the way to rectify the mean spirit of money is through giving.
