Vaclav Havel, a dissident playwright who was jailed by Communists and then went on to become Czech president and a symbol of peace and freedom after leading the bloodless Velvet Revolution, died at age 75 today.
Truth and love will overcome lies and hatred, said Havel before becoming president-philosopher. Truth and love are political absurdities since politics is the science of the lie; through merging two opposites, this frail man, brought the dream of peace to his country.
Only in a dream do two opposites come together – the infinite possibilities of heaven merging with the symbols of Earth; when unity arrives on the Earth instead of the heavens – life becomes like a dream. Dovid in Tihilim/Psalms says, We will be as dreamers.
The Cabala describes Truth and Love as being in the center of the heart, which is the direct portal to God; the Zohar says, Lase Mochshava Tofesa Baye/No Mind Can Grasp You – the Cabala explains, No mind can grasp God, but the heart can grasp God – the center of the heart.
When a person inspires love in the people, this is a sign that person also gives pleasure to God. Havel in Hebrew means Breath; breath cools the fire while warming the water of the heart – Havel/Able is also the name of the first person to give his life for what he believed.
