THE CABALA OF WALKING

A study found people with a slower walking speed in middle age were one-and-a-half times more likely to develop dementia compared to people with faster walking speed.

The difference between angels and souls is, angels are called Omdin/Standers while souls are called MaHalchim/Walkers. The meaning of this nomenclature is, like animals, angels are confined by their nature while the human being constantly changes and evolves into the future.

Rabbi Akiva, of great renown from two thousand years ago, was known as Rutzim/Runner; the Talmud-Book of Law describes Rabbi Akiva beginning prayer in one corner but finishing in another because of constant genuflecting and prostrations. Rabbi Akiva was in a hurry.

The Cabala defines life as that which moves; from the atom to the universe everything is alive. In the future, according to the Midrash-Book of Metaphor, the stones will speak and they will say, Do not walk upon me unless you are going somewhere to do the Will of God.

Where we walk is as important as how we walk; life is not about how long we live but rather the quality of life. Some run after the dollar and some run after sex; some seek position, but those who seek heaven need to know – the greatest pain in heaven is embarrassment.

TERRESTRIAL VISION

A new study of astronauts shows that radiation and bone loss aren't the only health risks for long-duration stays in space; about one-third of the U.S. space station crew members return with impaired vision.

The Cabala (Kabbalah) relates vision with the right hemisphere of the brain, connecting directly with the soul; the ability of sight goes back to before creation, when the soul was embedded in the light of God – Yira/Fear are the same letters making Riya/Sight.

The fear of being close to God translated into the ability to see. The eyeball, the vessel of sight, is extremely delicate requiring a well-oiled irrigation system through which emotions can be emitted through tears, caused by the the contracting of the brain.

The brain, which is saturated with water, contracts when unable to comprehend, either good or bad; through the contractions the severity of salt is added to the purity of the tears. The eye was created for terrestrial use, seeing a very small spectrum of light.

In Psalms, Dovid HaMelech/The King sings, The earth belongs to man but the heavens belong to God. Now, astronomers theorize: a three year long trip to Mars could render the astronauts blind and unable to see their surroundings – an ironic result, for sure.

The Imperfect Perfect Game

Dallas Braden threw the 19th perfect game in baseball history Sunday in a 4-0 victory over the visiting Rays in front of his grandmother on Mother's Day.

This unusual happening, retiring 27 consecutive batters–the minimum possible–needs to be inspected for clues from heaven. The perfect game is baseball’s greatest anomaly, why did it happen now to him? To better understand the how and the why it is necessary to scrutinize the numbers associated with this feat.

One of the cabalistic rules concerning gematria, the study of number-letter interchange, is the ability to add one to a complete number; 26 is the total of the Four Letter Name of God YHVH, adding one makes Cof-Ziyan/27 makes the word Zak/Pure when read backwards.

The number 19 is also significant because it was Mother’s Day but his mother had prematurely passed away–19 is the most incomplete number. The sum total of 27 and 19 is 72 which is the highest number related to the YHVH, called Ab /72 (Aiyin-Bet) the number related to the essence of the human being.

Doing anything perfect requires the help of God as seen is baseball where the best pitchers are not generally the ones throwing the perfect games–as the Talmud-Book of Law says, everything is in heaven with the exception of Yira Shamiam/Fear of Heaven.

Sick and Dying

Hospital-acquired infections killed 48,000 people and ramped up health care costs by $8.1 billion in 2006 alone, according to a new study by Archives of Internal Medicine.

In Israel, in modern Hebrew the hospitals are called Bait Cholim/House of Sickness; the word hospital comes from the word hospice a euphemism for a place to die–sickness and death hidden in sterility. Happy is the person who gets sick and dies at home.

Having to live at any cost robs the next generation and sets a bad example of ego and arrogance. Life is not about how long we live but how well we live–what actions we can proudly take into the next world where what we did is set out before us.

In the middle and the end of the Torah, the Five Books of Moshe are written The Curses, 49 different stages of sickness visited upon the human being to help bring about cleansing and repentance; if one sickness is eliminated a more difficult sickness will take its place. The problem is not sickness, but way we treat sickness as haphazard instead of predicated upon human action.

The Cabala connects Chomim/Sickness to Cholem/Dream; sickness is a nightmare that either passes or is passed–either you live through it or you die. It is said, Doctors were sent into the world to help the Angel of Death.

The Most Dangerous Place

President Obama recently called the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan as "the most dangerous place in the world."

The problems in Kashmir and the difficulties with the Palestinians both result from the borders and the partitions erected by the English in 1948 when Israel became a state and have been the epicenters of world discord ever since.

The Khaiber Pass, Kashmir and Jerusalem are all ancient portals to the heavens as clearly described in the Torah/Teaching. Warring at spiritual portals are ways to war against Heaven—there are those who believe God sits in Heaven and therefore they war against Heaven. Spiritual ascension is a war against the negative energy implicit in physicality—those bent on war against God exploit those holy places by means of cruel dictates.

Just as war in a spiritual portal strikes at the very essence so too the solution must reach the very essence of the problem. When the Jewish, Muslim and Hindu Peoples realize there is no contradiction from their texts then the portal can be opened and new light can come to the world.
