THE CABALA OF SEXUAL OPENNESS

Frank Ocean, the talented singer/songwriter, used his Tumblr account to discuss his sexuality with fans this week, opening up about a previous relationship with a man; Russell Simmons contends that it's a defining moment for hip-hop.

Cabala denotes sexuality from the word Sod/Secret, as if every person should keep their sexual experience private – a secret. Before the repression of the Fifties erupted in the Sixes, sexuality was only hinted at through innuendo or metaphor; now sexuality is blatantly exposed.

Alan Ginsburg’s poetry was banned; Henry Miller’s novels were banned; and Lenny Bruce was jailed for his sexual use of words – the words were not prohibited but the use of articulate sexual speech was banned. There is something within the human being that wants to keep sexuality secret.

Cabala explains, sexuality’s secret is due to sex’s direct connection with essence – the definition of essence is, That which can not be seen; if essence is seen then it is not essence. When sexuality is exposed then the link to essence is broken – sex becomes pornography.

The Cabala also explains, Sexuality was undefined in the previous world Tohu/Chaos and is being defined in our world called Tikun/Fixing. Revealing sexuality is defining sexuality; perhaps, it is time to define sexuality through revealing the most intimate of details?
