Brotherly Love

Israel faces intense international condemnation and growing domestic questions after a raid by naval commandos killed nine people on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza.

The laws of war as defined in the Torah provides an escape for those trapped to encourage peace through negotiations; Israel has always been judged on a higher standard than the rest of the world and the Jewish People have accepted that standard to make ourselves better.

When we fall, we fall a long ways. It was only 60 years ago when the British were taking the same actions against the Jews trying to makes their way to Israel; force as a deterrent only infuriates those being ruled–Israel must not fight a war against the entire Middle East, it is unthinkable.

It says in the Torah that all the ways of Torah/Teaching are ways of Sholom/Peace. Sholom also means Complete because without peace nothing is complete. The dream of love and peace from the Sixties has not diminished in the heart of man, but the malignancy of politics and war has increased many fold.

The Torah teaches that the greatest love is between brothers and it is during times like this that needs to be remembered and understood that the Jewish and Arab Peoples are brothers coming from one father Avraham 4000 years ago.

The Design of Creation

A recent study has shown that three GM corn crops produced by Monsanto caused kidney and liver damage as well as some heart, adrenal, spleen and blood damage in rats.

Those who would tinker with creation at the most essential level, the DNA of life, will most certainly bring destruction to the earth. It was true with breaking the atom which brought the bomb, it is true with religion–the perpetual reason for war and now it is true with food.

This pernicious practice of tampering with food is inexcusable given the pervasive possibilities of poisoning the entire populous. So likely is this possibility that countries have refused Monsanto corn preferring instead to die of starvation in the short term than poison their people in the long term.

This new “Ugly American” strikes at the very heart of life. The USA the only country to ever drop an atomic bomb on another people finds solace in their religion.

The Torah is adamant, no one can destroy God’s plan for the world. Described in the Cabala as onion-like, creation is separated by unalterable time sequences that proceed precisely to their goal. To God life is a story with a beginning, middle and end–how the story plays out is in the hands of the human being–but, the story will be told.

Eating Dogs and Cats

China plans to end thousands of years of culinary tradition by taking dogs and cat meat off its menu. A law being drafted against animal abuse—China's first—calls for the country's thousands of dog butchers and dog meat restaurants to be closed down.

Perek Shira is a book of songs where creation sings to God from a portion of the 24 books in Torah. For example the heavens sing a sentence from the Tihilim/Psalms, The heavens relate the respect of God and the work of Your hands is told to the Rachiam/Orbits.

After going through the the elements, the nature, the animals of the earth and the birds in the sky, the fly and the whale each with their special wisdom, Perek Shira ends with the cat and the dog. The cat says, All the souls praise God, Halaluya; the dog says, Come and bow down, prostrate yourself on your knees before God who made us.

Cats and dogs seems to be the closest to the human being, cats resembling woman purring seductively while men like dogs are always trying to get a leg up. In the west people live with their dogs and cats in the house, give them names medical care and mourn their death; in the east they eat them.

These two extremes of east and west both needs to moderate; according to the Cabala all life is holy, but the human being takes precedent.
