Brotherly Love

Israel faces intense international condemnation and growing domestic questions after a raid by naval commandos killed nine people on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza.

The laws of war as defined in the Torah provides an escape for those trapped to encourage peace through negotiations; Israel has always been judged on a higher standard than the rest of the world and the Jewish People have accepted that standard to make ourselves better.

When we fall, we fall a long ways. It was only 60 years ago when the British were taking the same actions against the Jews trying to makes their way to Israel; force as a deterrent only infuriates those being ruled–Israel must not fight a war against the entire Middle East, it is unthinkable.

It says in the Torah that all the ways of Torah/Teaching are ways of Sholom/Peace. Sholom also means Complete because without peace nothing is complete. The dream of love and peace from the Sixties has not diminished in the heart of man, but the malignancy of politics and war has increased many fold.

The Torah teaches that the greatest love is between brothers and it is during times like this that needs to be remembered and understood that the Jewish and Arab Peoples are brothers coming from one father Avraham 4000 years ago.
