In Praise of Women

The Obama White House marked International Women's Day on Monday, a highlight of women’s History Month. President Obama and the first lady, Michelle were generally upbeat.

The Cabala traces the seminal beginning of male and female to the brain which is divided primary into two hemispheres called Chochma and Bena. Chachma/Clarity is right and male side of the brain while Bena/Builder is the left and female side of the brain.

The soul enters into the body from the right side of the brain which is only able to recognize something indistinct which is then seeded into the left side of the brain where cognition takes place. The Zohar-Book of Secret says that women have Bena Yetera/Extra Understanding, but the Cabala explains Extra as the ability to bring from the deepest depths something completely new–like a baby.

The Midrash-Book of Metaphor says, when Avraham the father of ancient peoples was first in the world 4000 years ago he thought that God was woman because all light comes from the darkness. The darkness is greater than the light as seen in the ability of darkness to hold the light or for a woman to receive a man.

In the Torah Woman’s day is celebrated at the end of summer known as Tuba Av called in the Talmud–Book of Law the greatest of all the holidays.

Naked at the Opera

More than 5,000 people have shed their clothing on the steps of the Sydney Opera House to delivered a very strong message to the world that Australians embrace a free and equal society.

Only the human being experiences the shame of nakedness which is focused on the male and female genitals. Jewish Law forbids a man from standing naked before books of Torah whereas women are permitted since naturally a woman’s sex is hidden between her legs.

Male and female are delineated in the Cabala as the lower seven of the Ten Siferot/Luminaries called Zera Anpin/Little Faces and Malchut/Royalty referring to the ten intersecting triangles reflected in the two arms and the torso and the two legs and the sex. Sex is the most exposed and external of the six energies.

These six energies correspond to the six days of the work week–sex being the ultimate work. When the six days enter into the seventh, the Shabbot Queen, there is rest. Jewish Law maintains that if you have sex only once a week do it on the Shabbot.

It is hard to be naked men and women together because sex is aroused; Jewish Law requires man and woman to be naked while having sex. Nakedness is the ultimate expression of openness and trust as exemplified in Australia who just happen to be–down under.

The Midrash-Book of Metaphor says answering the question, why did God create the world, responds that God wanted a dwelling place in low. To God who is beyond physical or spiritual time and space is low, but football is really low—bunch of grown men hitting each other as hard as they can to try to get the ball; where men dress up in tight pants slapping each other on the ass, piling on, tight ends, trying to get penetration—God will surely be there; he wouldn’t miss sitting there on his heavenly throne with a beer.
