The Ship of State

Mr. Obama prepares to deliver his State of the Union address on Wednesday and lay out his initiatives for the second year of his presidency.

The president often uses the metaphor of a ship at sea when referring to the time it takes to turn and change course; the sixtieth vote in the senate allowed him to turned the wheel and begin a movement–now the wheel is being turned the other direction to stabilize the ship.

Metaphors are helpful inventions meant to augment ideas, but according to the Torah all of life is a metaphor. In our times, the End of Days, just prior to entering the thousand years of Peace is when the 6000 years of man enter into the culminating 1000 years of woman.

The Midrash-Book of Metaphor, one of the four levels of learning in the Torah does not take events out of there simple meaning but rather points the metaphoric meaning implicit in the Torah. The only thing higher than metaphor is the Zohar-Book of Secret from where the explanations of Moshiach/Messiah are derived.

The Cabala teaches how the word Moshiach is derived from the word Meshic/Pouring of Oil. The promise of Moshiach is a new light likened to oil that raises above water.

High Waters Rising

Residents of south Fargo, North Dakota, evacuated their homes early on Friday as the Red River rose to its highest level in 111 years. The river is expected to crest by Saturday at 42 feet.

Shlomo, King of Israel son of Dovid wrote in his love poem to God called Shir HaShirim/Song of Songs, “Mighty waters will not be able to conquer my love and rivers will not inundate; if a man gives all the riches of his house with love it will be disrespected.”

Water is an often used metaphor throughout the Torah/Teaching who is compared to the water which emanates from the heavens, but does not lose her essential quality upon the earth.

Water is the sign of life and growth when administered in proper portions; the number 42 in Cabala is the essence of chaos, called Mob, refers to the previous world which was on the planet Mars. The number 111 is the Milue/Essence of the letter Aleph/1 along with being the 111th Congress of the USA.

The letter Aleph depicts the primordial splitting of the waters and 42 represents the essence of chaos; we live in a time when the essence of order and chaos do battle—in the Torah/Teaching it is called, End of Days when true order will overcome chaos.
