Jewish Laws demands the body be buried as soon as possible because the time between death and burial is a transitional time before the soul raises into heaven; it is during this time the dead and the living converse–after the soul enters into heaven a process of forgetting begins. As it happened Michael Jackson had a long transition period perhaps because there were so many people who needed to say goodbye.
It is noted in the Midrash-Book of Metaphor that the people mourned longer for Aaron who was the first Cohen/Server to God than they did for his brother Moshe who had received and transmitted the Torah even though both brothers had sacrificed themselves for the good of the Jewish People.
The Talmud-Book of Law explains that Aaron was called Ruduf Shalom/Peace Runner because he would run to make peace between couples having an argument. Moshe brought the Law from the head, but Aaron brought the Love from the heart. The Cabala explains how the head is higher meaning closer to the heavens but the heart is closer to God.
Music opens the heart to God, thank you Michael Jackson.
