Apologize for What?

David Letterman's apology to his wife and staff members means another big night in the Nielsen ratings for the late-night talk-show host, the Associated Press reports.

The disparity between men and women is addressed in the Torah through the laws of marriage. A man is commanded to marry and have children, but a woman is not commanded and only does so for other reasons like love, security or in our time convenience. Both man and woman once married are prohibited from being sexual with a male; the law of the Torah proscribes that once a woman is married she can no longer be with another man–Jewish men are in perpetuity prohibited from other men. Both man and woman are allowed other women; the man can have more than one wife and the woman is allowed to be sexual with other woman–thats how life was back before the destruction of the First Temple 2600 years ago.

So what did David Letterman do wrong? He cheated, lied and hid the truth.

The basic laws in the Torah favor women, for example a man can only be with his wife when she wants and a man is commanded to satisfy his wife and not the other way around.

Relationships are based on honesty–it is more important the how than the what.
