In his official farewell to outgoing Defense Secretary Robert Gates, U.S President Barack Obama honored the plainspoken Kansas native on Thursday with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor.
What is freedom and why is it so important? Animals appear free but they are not because their actions must conform to their instinct; the human being, on the other hand, is constantly trying to exceed their limits, contained only by the limit of imagination.
In America freedom is defined as the unfettered ability to make money – a very limited view of freedom; even freedom of speech is stifled by many voices amplified by money. The Talmud-Book of Law notes, The more money one has, the more worry for his possessions.
Money is a means and not an end; it is not money that makes you free – money only greases the wheels. The Torah states, There is no freedom other than the Torah. How can the Torah make one free when there are 613 Commandments to adhere to and to perform?
The only choice in life, in perspective or in action, is to chose to include God into one's life – all other things follow from that juncture. However we chose to live with God, brings God into this world; the Cabala reminds us, God wants a dwelling place in low.

EXTREMISM IN AMERICA
President Obama said the Republican position, not accepting any tax increases as part of a deal to increase the debt limit is, Not sustainable, adding, Everybody else has been willing to move off their maximalist position; they need to do the same.
For people to live together all forms of extremism need to be moderated. The Cabala explains how existence is situated along three pillars: left, right and center; the human body is representative of this symmetry through the extremities of legs and arms.

THE CORRUPT
A jury on Monday convicted the former governor of Illinois, of a broad pattern of corruption, including charges that he tried to personally benefit from his role in selecting a replacement for President Obama in the United States Senate.

UNDER GOD
NBC offered an on-air apology Sunday for omitting the Under God portion of the Pledge of Allegiance during its U.S. Open coverage.
Nietzsche once famously wrote in his book, Thus Spoke Zarthustra, God is dead in the hearts of man. NBC, not wanting to upset this constituency, left God out. America is always going on about God, which is conveniently given to religion to explain.
The government writes In God We Trust on the back of the dollar bill, but what does that really mean? Is God physical? Is God spiritual? Or is God a combination of the physical and spiritual? The Torah says, neither! God is not physical or spiritual; God is the Creator.
The Creator is not of creation, the idea of existence is only relevant from the standpoint of that which exists. It says in the Midrash-Book of Metaphor, God's revelation in the world is the humility of God to descend into our world to be known.
God is equal throughout creation because all creation came out of nothing – everything is equally created. It is equality that gives uniqueness and it is the uniqueness that allows for individual relationships between every aspect of creation with the Creator.

THE BIG HUG
The courts have concluded: There is no collective opposition to the machine. This is ironic since, the strength of the machine is to collect together into one, while enjoying the benefits of individual rights.
The cards are stacked against the people who must, now, each the fight the machine as individuals against the collective strength of the corporation. These are the same corporations needing tax cuts so they can make more jobs, but the quality of the jobs is suspect.
It says in the Midrash-Book of Metaphor, God made a work for every individual to love. It is God's hope that the human being together will learn how to encompass all activities into one human endeavor to come close to God who is described as One.
The One of God is not made of pieces. The human soul that enlivens all bodies from a common source is also not made of pieces, but the corporations are pieced together. Corporations exploit the strength of unity; human beings naturally hold together in a big hug.

CUSTOM OR SUPERSTITION
Mazel tov! Actress Natalie Portman gave birth to a baby boy, “I think it’s a Jewish thing to be kind of superstitious. You don’t do any of the baby stuff before the baby arrives” Portman said.
The phrase Mazel Tov generally translated as Good Luck has a much deeper meaning; Mazel refers to the alighnment of the stars at the time of birth. The Talmud-Book of Law says, Before a blade of grass can grow, a starlight must touch the plant and say, Grow!
How much more so for the the complex human being who is not just born into this world, but is expected, through freedom of choice, to change the world for good. The precise alignment of the stars sets the character and abilities for the soul clothed inside a body.
The baby is hidden, even the moment of conception is unknown to the parents, but once revealed through birth then life begins. The cabalists say, The time to begin instruction of the child is at conception – every thought and action of the parents effects the child.
It is not superstition that the Jewish People practice, but a general understanding that a thing not seen is blessed; once revealed, immutable reality sets in and the blessing is diminished. This custom is an act of love whereas superstition is an act of fear.
The phrase Mazel Tov generally translated as Good Luck has a much deeper meaning; Mazel refers to the alighnment of the stars at the time of birth. The Talmud-Book of Law says, Before a blade of grass can grow, a starlight must touch the plant and say, Grow!
How much more so for the the complex human being who is not just born into this world, but is expected, through freedom of choice, to change the world for good. The precise alignment of the stars sets the character and abilities for the soul clothed inside a body.
The baby is hidden, even the moment of conception is unknown to the parents, but once revealed through birth then life begins. The cabalists say, The time to begin instruction of the child is at conception – every thought and action of the parents effects the child.
It is not superstition that the Jewish People practice, but a general understanding that a thing not seen is blessed; once revealed, immutable reality sets in and the blessing is diminished. This custom is an act of love whereas superstition is an act of fear.

LIGHT OF CREATION

The Obama administration is leading an effort to develop "shadow" Internet and mobile-phone networks that allow activists to circumvent state control.
Speech is the defining attribute that separates the human being from the animal; though animals make sounds to communicate to other animals, they do not articulate thoughts into speech like the human being do – a difference accentuated by stature.
The human being goes upright, the head above the heart while the animal goes on all fours indicating that the head and the heart are on the same level – meaning, the sounds of the animal are emotional responses. Animals looks at the ground; human beings looks to heaven.
The Torah differentiates the creation of animal being called forth from the earth while the human being is made of clay but then enlivened through the breath of God – it is that breath that allows us to speak. Freedom of speech is the most valued of all freedoms.

Perhaps, war will end when everyone becomes tired of paying for war. The prophesy in the Torah is that the lion will lie down with the lamb, meaning: the lion will remain a lion and the lamb will remain a lamb, but peace will dwell between them.

STANDING IN THE SHADOW
A promising new birth control method for men that's more easily reversible than vasectomy has been developed in India and is claimed to be 100 percent effective in trials, doesn't contain controversial hormone therapy and it lasts a minimum of 10 years.
According to Torah law, men are not allowed to practice birth control, that capacity belongs strictly to the woman; the Cabala reasons, the sperm is generated in the mind, passed down through the spine, cooked in the testicles before being delivered to the woman.
The woman has a right to the sperm and the man cannot withhold the sperm – it is completely up to the woman if she wants to become pregnant. The man is merely a conduit between the soul and woman; the man is not allowed to interfere with that process.

HERE COMES THE SUN
The Sun unleashed a solar flare with a spectacular coronal mass ejection on June 7, 2011 from a sunspot complex that hit the Earth today with little effect.
Along with this months partial eclipses at the beginning and ends of this month at the north and south poles and a total lunar eclipse over the Middle East in the middle of the month is this extraordinary solar flare that comes to the Earth on the holiday of Shavuot.
Shavuot, the holiday celebrating the giving of the Torah to the Jewish People over 3500 years ago, was the beginning of the process, climaxing in our time, to bring peace to the world through the vehicle of understanding. The power to question is the key.
The Cabala states, Chochma/Power of What, that resides in the right lobe of the brain, where the soul connects to the body, is how the world becomes purified. Through purification light will extend to every person in the world and then Moshiach will come forth.

Apple Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs, by introducing a service that shares files across different Internet-linked devices, the iCloud, takes another step toward sidelining the personal-computer industry.

A massive fire burning in eastern Arizona continued to burn out of control on Monday, charring bone-dry forest land with no end in sight, fire officials said.
The word Emesh, the first sound of creation, as recorded in the Sefer Yitzira/Book of Creation written 4000 years ago by Avraham, progenitor of the Arab, Jewish and Roman Peoples, first book of Cabala, is an acrostic for wind, water and fire – now plaguing America.

IN GOD WE TRUST
A poll released by Gallup yesterday confirmed what a deeply religious America continues to be, 92 percent of Americans still say "yes" when asked the basic question "Do you believe in God?"
God is not religious and religion is not God. The problem with God is God never speaks directly, but always through an intermediary; even when God spoke to Moshe, it was using the voice of Matatron – the angel assigned to the earth. God is forever silent.
This silence allows religion to step in and each claim the Creator of Heaven and Earth as their own – but, people need not believe in religion to believe in God. The creed of America, printed on back of the dollar bill just above word One is: In God we truth.
It seems the more people rely upon the government the less they believe in God; in Canada only one out of four and in France one in three believe in God – both countries favor socialism. The dog eat dog world of capitalism leaves no recourse but to turn to God.

A gathering of religious conservatives drew nearly all the GOP presidential hopefuls to a single stage; the Faith and Freedom Coalition's two-day conference proved that the religious right still plays a major role in the nominating process.
The division between state and religion is hardly divided and the reason is because of the tax break given to religion who are the biggest landholders in the world – paying no taxes and wheeling a huge influence over the political realities and future.
When ancient Rome fell it fell into religion. There is not word for religion in Hebrew, Arabic or Sanskrit and the only reason these faithS ascribe to religion is to get their tax break. Religion is the most pernicious force in the world – pitting man against God.
The epitome of religion is found in the Vatican, a country with zero percent population growth due to there demonization of sex, with the exception of young boys. Their virulent stands against gays and women contradicts both the Torah and the Koran.

DOCTOR DEATH DIES
The American pathologist, Jack Kevorkian, dubbed "Doctor Death" for helping dozens of terminally-ill people to commit suicide, died today at the age of 83 in a Michigan hospital.
The Cabala explains, Life is limited to words because life is spoken by the soul into the human being at birth and when we finish speaking our words into the world, we die. Some say committing suicide is worse than murder because a murderer can still repent.
But, it is the pain of life that drives us to suicide, begging death to come and cut the cord to life; all bow down to death because nothing can stand before death. In some instances, death is the most compassionate of all options; death is the final arbitrator of pain.

The global war on drugs has "failed" according to a new report by a group of politicians and former world leaders; the Global Commission on Drug Policy report calls for the legalization of some drugs and an end to the criminalization of drug users.
In America where war is a way of life and a monetary stimulus for our economy, the traditional definition has expanded to include drugs; there is the war against disease, the war against pain and the war against euphoria. The drug companies are losing the war.
The natural drugs like heroin have been replaced by a plethora of drugs like oxycodone leaving many in the world in pain; cocaine, another natural substance meant to ease the pangs of hunger finds no replacement – while the stress of society cripples the human psyche.
God created these substances to help alleviate the pain of living in the world; America has made war on God by making these drugs illegal – but, America is losing the war after inflicting their own pain and dividing families for years, through incarceration.
The Torah does not prohibited plants; no substance requires interdiction and no euphoria is exempted but one. The Talmud-Book of Law says, If honey were put into the incense no one could stand before the scent; then why is it not done? Because the Torah forbids.

THREE ECLIPSES
Over the next month, the world will experience three eclipses: two partial solar eclipses a month apart and one total lunar eclipse exactly in between, and it all starts with a so-called "midnight" eclipse of the sun today.
Coinciding with these eclipses is the Hebrew of month of Sivan when the Torah was given to the Jewish People 3323 years ago; what makes these astronomical events particularly stunning is the lunar eclipse happens over the Middle East on the day of completion.

THE CIRCLE OF TRUTH
