Speed and Smack

A new study from the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California suggests that methamphetamine takes an economic toll nearly as great as heroin and possibly more.

Heroin has the affect of dulling pain while methamphetamine or speed, like cocaine, induces an energetic euphoria—both take a clear toll on the body which innately injures the soul. The cure to this dangerous epidemic is charity because charity mollifies extreme situations as does love and understanding when freely given.

In the Torah/Teaching charity is known as HaMitzvah/The Commandment; the word for charity is Ztadeka from the world Ztedic/Righteous. The inner source of charity is compassion. The fact that these harmful drugs are taking such a serious toll on society is indicative of a lack of compassion during difficult times.
