Astronomers have discovered the darkest known exoplanet, a Jupiter-sized gas giant blacker than coal reflecting less than one percent of the sunlight falling on it.
All of creation to God is a world, but the focus of this creation is Earth where the human being with freedom of choice lives. The Cabala, the Jewish mystical tradition describes a world as anything with six directions… up, down; left right; front and back.
The Talmud-Book of Law states, The world was created dark then turned to light; therefore, there are worlds that shine and worlds that do not shine. The worlds that do not shine are on a level of Malchut/Royalty, still within the womb of the mother, awaiting birth.
The worlds that shine are the six attributes of: Kindness, Severity, Beauty, Victory, Splendor, and Secret; these attributes are the foundation of the six directions and the six continents upon the earth where humans dwell. Earth is the lowest point in creation.
The Zohar-Book of Secret teaches about the 310 Worlds; the Cabala explains, 310 is half of 620 which is the gematria of Keter/Crown – the hovering source of worlds, to indicate how half of Keter is dark and from the other half comes the creation of our universe.
