Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center in Miami are keeping close tabs on tropical storm Katia, which could become the second hurricane of the 2011 Atlantic season before Wednesday is out.
Katia in Hebrew means to Cut Off. The Cabala teaches, that the soul comes in through the name and the everything that exists has a soul – even a hurricane. One has to wonder at the rash of natural disasters visiting America, as if convulsing in sickness.
The earth also has a soul and a hugh body upon whose surface life on earth lives, but the human being wants also to own the land for the sake of stability. Natural disasters reminds us, God owns the Heavens and the Earth – God is constantly caring for creation.
Perhaps, America is bloated from over-eating, fevered from the pollution of her endeavors, sick from war and political divisiveness; Maybe, these hurricanes are meant, from the Creator, to cool America and stop her frantic ambitions towards world domination.
The right hand of God is the left hand to creation; the Cabala explains, The right hand symbolizes the attribute of Chesed/Kindness while the left is Gevorah/Severity – sometimes, what is severe for life on Earth is in actuality the kindness from the Creator.
