The Miami Marlins policy against long hair has shortstop Jose Reyes getting a trim; Reyes' dreadlocks ended up on EBay, with the winner offering up more than $10,000 – Proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish foundation.
The essence of hair is pleasure, which is the essence of life derived from what the Cabala calls Keter/Crown – the crown surrounds but does not enter and since pleasure overwhelms, only a small amount can be experienced in the body without driving the human being mad.
The Cabala explains, Hair is a union between male and female energies exemplified in the hollow of the hair surrounded by the substance of the hair. In the same way light entering creation is more male than the light surrounding creation, the hollow of the hair is also male.
The male aspect of Keter/Crown is Will; the hidden female essence is Pleasure – only in hair is essence exposed. The hair of the beard is constructed similar to pubic hair because both hide the secret; women are naturally hidden, therefore only men have beards.
The hair of the head comes from the dregs formed from the thoughts intercepted by the skull creating an inner world and an outer world. The inner world is Heaven, the outer world is Earth; the human being, the conduit needed to the bridge these two dimensions, is but a hair.
