Bush is Back

During their first joint visit to Haiti this week, George W. Bush appears to have wiped his hand on Bill Clinton's shirt after shaking hands with a crowd of Haitians.

In the Book of Shmoel/Samuel is written how the prophet announces to Shual the first king of Israel that his kingship is over; Shual grabs onto the robe of the prophet which tears–the prophet the says, That is your kingship ripping.

Bush wiping his hands on his predecessor is nothing new for the ex-president after shoveling the shit he produced to the present president. One of the questions plaguing the human predicament is how the wicked thrive while the righteous suffer. Only God knows if Bush is wicked, but he certainly did wicked things that came close to collapsing our world.

Bush in Hebrew means Embarrassment and the Midrash-Book of Metapor says the last king of Rome will be called Irom/Naked because of the embarrassment caused to his people by ransacking the treasury for the sake of his religion. Bush came to power after 2000 years of Rome when Mars to whom Rome prays came closest to the earth–henceforth forever receding.

The Zohar-Book of Secret identifies Mars as the previous world from where the animal nature is derived; animal sacrifice in the Temple was a constant reminder to sacrifice our animal nature derived from Mars–as Rome falls Yisroel/Israel rises.

Bob Does White House

"The times, they are a changin'," sang Bob Dylan, in the stately East Room of the White House strumming an acoustic guitar, as President Barack Obama hosted an evening of the music from the civil rights movement.

“Come senators, congressman, please heed the call, Don’t stand in the doorway, don’t block up the hall.” Bob seemed to be nodding to the president after the song and then stepped down to shake his hand.

After fifty years congress is still blocking the hall preferring to be obstructionists hoping for political gains. Bob has always shied away from politics, but his songs have not–he is the poet-king of our time. Like the prophets of old Bob does not interpret his words he just sings them, perhaps that is why they last so long in our communal psyche.

Dovid, first king of the Jewish People 3500 years ago was the original poet-king from whose branch Moshiach will come; but, not only will Moshiach be from the tree of Dovid but will have the personality of Dovid who detested politics–the original reason for which Dovid was chosen by God to become king.

The Cabala explains how Dovid’s name Dalet-Vav-Dalet can be read frontwards or backwards indicating how Dovid was always the same whether up or down. It is hoped the dudes in congress will heed his call and get out of the hall.

White as Snow

The heaviest snow storms for decades have struck the eastern US, paralyzing air and road transport, and bringing Washington DC to a standstill.

In the Midrash-Book of Metaphor says that the angel Michiel, angel of kindness and angel Gavreil, angel of severity, come together and make peace with one another through white hair–the sign of elder. The Cabala explains how snow originated beneath the Kesay HaKavod/Seat of Honor which hovers upon creation.

The idea of a seat indicates how the Creator is humbled to be lowered into creation. Beneath the Kesay HaKavod/Seat of Honor is snow which when melted through the power of prayer becomes water–the Torah is compared to water that comes from a very high place to a very low place without changing.

Physical snow is a sign of Chesed/Kindness from the source. That such a large amount of snow should fall on the nation’s capitol perhaps is a sign from heaven as is the turning of the President’s hair to white is a sign Gevorah/Severity being sweetened.

This unusual amount of snow on the nation’s capitol closing down institutions and keeping everyone in their place is reminder of God’s kindness for our country–a country like no other, peopled from every part of the globe.

Obama Vows

Admitting he is not the first, but vowing to be the last president to deal with Health Care in America President Obama is determined to fix this century old problem.

In the Torah vowing is considered to be an innate resource of every human being called upon during times of duress. Vows are believed without question, but a vow is more than a promise as demonstrated by the similarity to the words in Hebrew for Shavoa/Vow and Savoia/Satisfied.

Satisfaction is a type of pleasure that accompanies reaching self-imposed goals. It is pleasure that lures in us the higher expectation that satisfies to the depth of the soul. Pleasure is counted as the inner aspect of essence by the Cabala; pleasure commands will, the other side of essence–essence drives the human being even beyond logic.

The president usually mild-mannered and conciliatory was combative and forceful, so is the power of the vow. Marriage is a vow, military service is a vow, but vowing to change Washington is a combination of the two–the commitment to hold together but also the obligation to fight for what is right.

Being president is a tricky business, like the head bird flying at the point of the V needs to part the invisible wall of air so the ones behind can follow.

Transparency of the President

THE PRESIDENT: It's like -- it was like Special Olympics, or something. The president called Tim Shriver, chairman of the Special Olympics, to say he was sorry. "He expressed his disappointment, and he apologized in a way that was very moving. He expressed that he did not intend to humiliate this population," Shriver said today on ABC's "Good Morning America."

The President promised the people even before becoming president that he was not perfect and would certainly make mistakes, but to hear a high official of the government make so public an apology is transparency at its zenith.

The Talmud-Book of Law records the following story. Rebbe Shimon (author of the Zohar-Book of Secret) once remarked on the ugliness of a particular man to which the man replied: God created me. Rebbe followed the man into town continually prostrating himself before the man begging for forgiveness. The great Rebbe humbled before the ugly man who refused to forgive him; when the townsfolk saw this perfidy they persuaded the man to comply.

The President and the New Moon

President Barack Obama spoke to the joint houses of Congress, the American People and the world last night at the advent of the New Moon.

The month of Adar in the Hebrew calendar coincides with the beginning of spring; according to the Talmud-Book of Law when the month of Adar begins happiness increases. The new moon of each month is considered a holiday because it is a time of transition called Maled/Birthing when the moon is completely without light. In the birth process the most difficult part of the birth is called transition. All transitions are difficult, but with the proper guidance the needed process can happen without much trauma.

This propitious time of the new month was utilized by the president to address the inhabitance of the world announcing spring is on the way. In the Hebrew calendar which is regulated by the moon, there are four New Years one for each season; in the fall is the New Year for the earth called Rosh HaShana, the winter and summer celebrate the new year for the trees-water and the New Year for the animal-fire in the summer. The New Year for the human-air (speakers) happens in the spring and celebrates freedom.
