Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 90s today on the East Coast when the mourning period known as the Three Weeks begin with the Fast of the 17th of Tammuz.
It was on this day Moshe broke the first tablets of the Ten Commandments and it was on this day that Roman broke through the outer walls of Jerusalem and began the annihilation of the Jewish People ending with the destruction of the Second Temple three weeks later.
These Three Weeks are intense times because with every ending is the inevitable beginning out of the ashes of destruction. The reason for the Temple in Jerusalem was to produce light into the world – witness by the windows wide within but narrow towards the world.
The norm in building was to have windows wide on the exterior and narrow within to magnify the light – the light of the Temple was magnified into the world. With the destruction of the Temple began the Dark Ages and the Exile of Edom (Esau) father of Rome.
Esau is the twin brother of Yaakov progenitor of 12 sons each destined to be a Jewish Tribe. The Exile of Edom/Red will last until Moshiach comes from the heaven to the earth bringing after him the Third Temple – made of materials that are indestructible.
