A tiny golden bell pulled after 2,000 years from an ancient sewer beneath the Old City of Jerusalem was recently discovered by Israeli archaeologists, who hailed it as a rare find.

The golden bell has a direct connection to the Torah and the Cabala, the Jewish mystical tradition. Many of the 613 Commandments given to the Jewish People through the Torah are concerned with the Cohen, the officiator, and the Levi, the singer, who worked in the Temple.

The head Cohen wore a robe decorated on the bottom hem with alternating purple pomegranates and golden bells. The Cabalists say, This represents the world at the lowest level called: Neztak/Victory, Hod/Splendor and Yesod/Secret corresponding to the two legs and the sex.

Only the lower triangle in the Tree of Life is revealed in this time of darkness at the end of 2000 years of Roman exile; people are basically aggressive, passive or creative – light is absent. Light was vanquished when Rome returned with the Golden Candelabra.

During these Three Weeks of Mourning for the destruction of the Temple 2000 years ago by Rome is an auspicious time to recover the golden bell of the Cohen whose attribute is Chesed/Kindness. Aaron, the first Cohen, was known as Rodef Shalom/Peace Runner.
