Astronomical Hubris

Astronomers gathered in Washington, D.C. over the weekend for what was billed as the largest astronomy meeting in the history of the universe at the 215th meeting of the American Astronomical Society.

One of the 613 Commandments given to the Jewish People is to build a Myka/Fence around a flat roof so those using the roof will not fall off; the gematria of Myka is 215. Five hundred years ago scientists predicted the world was flat, now astronomers say the universe is flat and have built a perimeter around creation so their theories will not fall off.

Though the scientific community admits to only recognizing four percent of the whole nonetheless their boastings have no end. Scientific knowledge comes from the examination of decaying matter–from death science extrapolates to life. From the minute decaying of the atom until the subtle perturbations seen in lightwaves from the beginning of creation science assumes a lot from a little.

The difference between the secular world and the spiritual world is found in their attitude towards knowledge; according to secularism knowledge is the sum accumulation where last is first–meaning the latest knowledge is considered to highest and best. Spiritual tradition throughout the world dictates the oldest as being the highest.

The Cabala which is the essence of the Torah teaches the light is in the word, while the substance is in the letter.
