A FEMININE FACE

Picasso coup for tiny art school in occupied Palestinian territory triumphs as Buste de Femme (1943), valued at £4.5m, goes on show in Ramallah today.

Picasso fathered cubism a hundred years ago, just prior to World War One when the west defeated the Ottoman Empire splitting up the Middle East to insure constant conflict. Cubism adds another dimension to reality blunted by the subsequent 100 year war that followed.

Picasso infused into the three dimensional world the spiritual aspect of creation as denoted by the Jewish People who pray with two cubes attached to arm and head called Tephilin while Islam venerates the ancient Kaaba/The Cube in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Muslims face towards Mecca when they pray while the Jewish People pray to Jerusalem where where the Temple stood housing a cube inscribed with the Ten Commandments. The cube merges the heaven and the earth allowing for an interchange of light and darkness.

This famous face of woman coming to the West Bank of the Jordan River perhaps is a sign that the Shakina/Dwelling of the feminine aspect and attribute of the Creator is being known and revered throughout the Holy Land where peace will happen from a No State Solution.
