KISSES SWEETER THAN WINE

Legendary rock saxophonist Clarence Clemons has died of complications from a stroke, a spokesperson for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band said. He was 69.

It is said in the Midrash-Book of Metaphor that Dovid died on Shabbot, a thing known to the great king of Israel 3000 years ago. Dovid asked God, why on the Shabbot? The Creator answered, Because you don't play your harp on the Shabbot – Friday night and Saturday.

Dovid was a great musician whose music played him as seen from the Talmud-Book of Law, Dovid, King of Israel, would awake each night at night, from his harp hung by the northern window, to praise God. In Israel the north wind picks up at midnight, even now.

In the Cabala, Dovid is Malchut/Royalty, the tenth the Ten Sefirot/Luminaries that enliven all life; Malchut/Royalty is the attribute of voice – not only would Dovid play, he would also sing. Sometimes the song was prophetic; sometimes his singing would bring the song.

The singer passes, the player passes, all that is left is the song – the song goes on forever. In Shir HaShirim/Song of Songs, Shlomo, the son of Dovid, sings a love song to the Creator, My lips kiss your mouth with kisses, so good my beloved, better than wine.
