When populations around the globe started turning to agriculture around 10,000 years ago, regardless of their locations and type of crops, a similar trend occurred: The height and health of the people declined.
According to the Torah, this happened about 6,000-years-ago. Time is fluid and the rate of disintegration varies due to the environment brought on by spiritually separated time sequences; 6000 years ago the attribute of Chesed/Kindness was rampant throughout the world.
The first commandment to the human being was to watch over and work the garden – to eat from the sweat of the brow. The weaker human being required agriculture and later housing rather than being sustained by nature and her produce – living in the wild with the wild beasts.
The kindness reflected in a large human being able to live 1000 years quickly began to decline until a lifespan was only 120 years; Then a flood came and purified the earth; eventually, a very small gene pool was selected from which comes the modern human being.
Science and Torah need not conflict; together science and Torah meld into the metaphor that is life – science concentrating on substance while the Torah is the secret of the form. The evolution of the human being from substance to form is happening in our time.
