Scientists doing their first exploring of deep-sea vents in the Antarctic said it was unlike anything found around other hydrothermal vents -- a world populated by new species of anemones, predatory sea stars, and piles of hairy-chested yeti crabs.
Astronomers wonder at the diversity of the planets surmising, if a common apparatus was responsible for their formation then there should also be similarity in their structure – but, there is not. On the Earth the same question can be asked, Why so much diversity?
The Torah gives a simple explanation to this conundrum, Diversity shows on the greatness of God; one color is not beautiful – many colors mixed together are beautiful. The Cabala maintains, Because God said there would be life on planet Earth, there is life everywhere.
Life will always be on planet Earth because God is King and the word of the King stands forever, everywhere, all the time. Life is more than the accumulation of atoms into molecules; life is the fire in the blood animating the flesh – fire is the highest of the four elements.
Earth moves, but very slowly; plants grow but are planted in the ground; animals run; humans think and go beyond their nature. The soul is also made of four elements corresponding to the four levels of life – fire, whose nature is to go up, is the soul of man.
