THE CABALA OF STATE UNION

The central theme of President Obama's State of the Union address last night was the notion that in America, everybody deserves a fair shake; the President also made a plea for unity, evoking the 50 stars and thirteen stripes.

Before coming to the Land of Israel, the Jewish People, divided into 12 tribes, spent forty years walking in the Wilderness; they moved together in the form of a box – three tribes to a side. In the center of the 12 Tribes was the thirteenth – the Cohanim, who served God.

The number thirteen in gematria corresponds to the word Echud/One and the number fifty shows on completeness; after seven cycles of seven the Jubilee was celebrated on the fiftieth year – all property returned to their original owner. Fifty is consider forever, in the Talmud-Book of Law.

The greatest honor bestowed upon the Jewish People, is being mentioned in the Torah as, Aam Echud/One People. The way of Rome is to, divide and conquer; the way people survive is to unify for the sake of strength and security – the President is siding with the people against an ancient system.

Each of the Twelve Tribes had a flag indicative to the nature of that tribe; so too, the American red white and blue flag – the three foundational colors identified in the Cabala, corresponding to: kindness, severity, essence. The essence combines opposites; the opposites comprise the unity.
