THE CABALA OF TIME

The U.N.'s International Telecommunication Union postponed a decision last week on whether to abolish the extra second that's added to clocks every few years to compensate for the earth's natural doddering.

The exactness of the earth’s rotation around the sun every 24 hours is as overlooked as the moon’s perfectly sized sphere covering the sun during an eclipse – a bit smaller, the moon would not eclipse the sun and bit too big would blot out the sun, the moon is a perfect fit.

The Cabala explains, The number 24, which is the gematria of Cad/Vessel, divided between day and night is governed by the two Names of God each with four letters intertwining in 12 different configurations. Each configuration corresponds to an hour of 60 minutes.

The number 60 is written in Hebrew with the circular letter Somach – circle of time. The twelve parts of the hour correspond to the twelve diagonals of the Tree of Life composed of the six attributes, Medot/Measurments: Kindness, Severity, Beauty, Victory, Splendor, Secret.

Time is woman, corresponding to the last of the Ten Sefirot/Luminaries called Malkut/Royalty; while the other nine attributes point, Malkut turns – receiving from above then giving birth to below. In Jewish law women are exempt from all commandments involving time.
