Psilocybin — the psychedelic drug from magic mushrooms — is back in the news; a study to be published this week suggests the drug improves people’s sense of wellbeing, and might be a useful treatment for clinical depression.
The Cabala explains, though depression is not a sin against the Creator, depression is the opening to all sin – depression is the result of the decaying ego. The use of psychedelics connects to a spiritual dimension, enabling a state of unconstrained cognition to be attained.
Ego can not enter into heaven; the Isness of reality remains on the earth eventually evaporating into dust. Magic mushrooms are among the many gifts God gave to the world like, opium to stop pain, Cocoa to assuage hunger and psychedelics comes to bring us closer to heaven.
The Cabala teaches, The only good in depression is in getting out of depression; depression does not exist in heaven because there is no ego in heaven – some say, Mushrooms came from the heavens as indicated by their reliance on air more than the physicality of the earth.
The Creator blessed us with herbs to make the travail here on Earth a little easier. Depression is inevitable since the soul, hewed from the Name of God, will be forever separated from the Creator; but, separation also causes relationship – forever coming closer to God.
