THE CABALA OF A SILVER LINING

Demonstrators from the Occupy movement rallied outside the U.S. Capitol today protesting against the influence of money on Congress.

The Torah warns against money blinding the eyes of the leaders and judges; any type of bribery is completely forbidden – politicians have put America up for sale and have a vested interest. Nonetheless, good people get involved in politics, making a change for the better.

Change happens slowly because many people and institutions do not want change – they like being in control. The Talmud-Book of Law says, We should pray for the government, least people eat each other like the fish of the sea – big fish eating the little fish.

The future is in the streets protesting while the unsustainable gluttony of the past, goes on unabated; through protest, we inch closer to direct democracy – of the people, for the people and by the people. The point of democracy is protecting free expression.

The Cabala explains, using the metaphor of a mirror with the ability to reflect the light back to a place further than where the light emanated, the silver upon the glass causes the reflection but too much silver and the glass blackens, completely absorbing the light.
