California Compassion

California faces a $25 billion budget shortfall, which it must resolve by July 1, today; the state is on the brink of financial disaster, and ripples from its fiscal collapse could adversely affect both the nation's economic rebound and, potentially, the Federal Government's credit status.

The fight in California is between taxes and programs with the governor refusing to levy any new taxes and the legislature refuses to cut essential programs–both claim support of the people who want less taxes and more programs. This basic conundrum goes back to the very beginning of creation.

The Cabala explains that the first letter of the Written Torah Bet/2 is larger than the rest of the letters indicating the duality of creation–without the duality creation can not exist. The Cabala details how even the primordial light which engraved creation had two sides: the revealed light and the hidden light–day and night.

In the very beginning of the preface to the Zohar-Book is Secret is described the 13 petal rose; 13 is the number associated with Echud/One through gematria and also compassion through the 13 attributes of mercy.

When asked by the angels how God will resolve conflict, God answered, through compassion.
