Palestinian Peace

For the first time since the second Palestinian uprising broke out in late 2000 a sense of personal security and economic potential is spreading across the West Bank as the Palestinian Authority’s security forces enter their second year of consolidating order.

The Cabala describes how the previous world known as Tohu/Chaos broke and seeded this world, known as Tikun/Fixing, with life. The previous world was chaotic because of the individualistic nature of that place–independence to an extreme; the fixing came as a result of incompleteness requiring the help of others. Law and order is a direct result of the spiritual reality shared between these worlds.

Israel can not fight the chaos of violence by herself nor can the Palestinians root the chaos out from their midst; together these two peoples can forge a union of peace that will astound the world, emasculate the terrorists and defuse the nuclear threat in the Middle East. The walls will come down not because of political accords, but because of trust. Betachin/Trust, both physical and spiritual, is essential to peace. It is taught in the Cabala that when the Jewish People have faith in God then God has faith in the Jewish People.

The test for the Jewish People is, as the psalms of Dovid describes, to trust in God not in people.
