Naked in the News

The NY Post has published photos of Erin Andrews from the peephole video illegally taken of the ESPN sportscaster; California parks officials can enforce a ban on nudity at any state beach, even in areas that have been informally designated as "clothing optional," a state appeals court says.

Only the human being can be naked–nothing else in the world is naked, only the human being. Why? Nakedness in the Torah goes all the way back to Adom who eat from fruit of the Tree of Knowledge and then covered his sex because he realized he was naked. Animals have the capacity for embarrassment, but are not embarrassed by their genitals or their sexual activities.

The Cabala explains that sex in the previous world called Tohu/Chaos was not active; in this world where sexuality is being defined and for that reason, though there are Jewish laws for every aspect of life–there are no Jewish laws as to how to be sexual.

Sexuality is our expression of freedom more than any other part of the body because it is connected directly to the essence of life–pleasure and will. How and when we decide to use our sexuality is the basis of freedom of choice. Sexual energy is so overt and yet so sensitive that it usually requires cover.

One of the Seven Commandments of Noah is for society to enact laws to protect against sexual exploitation.
