Supreme Court Nominee

Judge Sotomayor would appear to be virtually assured of confirmation, despite the hostility of some Republicans.

The President has been criticized for wanting a judge with “empathy,” meaning one who can feel another’s pain, but in having a women he also gets an extra portion of compassion. In the Torah women are not judges because they have breasts, meaning the breast is a sign of extra compassion; since the law requires precise fidelity extra compassion was considered a distortion of the law.

In the Roman system adopted by the Americas law is more important than justice, which is a problem. The last of Seven Commandment given to Noah for his descendants to follow is to have courts of law delivering justice. The Roman way is to value law before justice since the law is there as a deterrent. More compassion on the bench will help balance the law and bring about justice.

The Cabala exclaims, no mind can grasp the Creator, because the mind is connected to the soul, but the heart can grasp the Creator because the heart is connected to God.
