The Whole Sun

The perfect spherical view will come on Feb. 6, 2011. Right now the satellites, which were launched in October 2006, are about 90 degrees apart, which allows a picture of about 270 degrees of the sun — the fullest view yet.

Unique astronomical events are notable for their date of occurrence–in this case just prior to the full moon which is a Jewish holiday called Tuba/15 of the month Shavat, the New Year for the Trees, when the sap first begins to ascend from the roots. The human being is compared to a tree planted in the earth.

In the Zohar-Book of Secret is written about the sun and the nine planets being the prototype to the human being fashioned from the YHVH called the Ten Sefirot/Luminaries. The sun is the first of the Sefirot called Chochma/Power of What; it is this attribute which connects the body to the soul–all the illumination of the sun is but a small reflection from light of the soul.

Particularly because the sun is so dynamic to view the entire orb of the sun at once is a glimpse of the soul. All things have a soul and certainly so does our solar system. The earth can not live without the sun like the body can not live without the soul.
