THE WAY HOME

Derek Jeter 1st Yankee and 28th player with 3,000 hits on a solo home run in the third inning against the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium on July 9, 2011.

The Rambam who 1200 years ago wrote the compendium of Jewish Law says, To become wise one must find a work to like and do it a lot; in baseball it is the love of the game. Derek/The Way, this man plays short-stop and the way he conducts himself is an epitome of greatness.

It is the love of the game, more than anything else that makes people, like Derek Jeter, become icons because they are a Dugma Chai/Living example. To be a living example gives faith to all those struggling to achieve greatness in their lives and vocations.

Greatness is, to become the best at what you do and to engender through actions, esteem. The Talmud-Book of Law teaches, When people are happy from you, is a sign that the Creator is also happy. Cabala teaches, The Creator, who loves creation, thrills when we thrill.

Eleph/Thousand has the additional meaning of Titular Head. One is a point, two is a line between two points and three is a triangle – the first independent combination. The number 28 in gematria means Choach/Strength. The allure of sports is to reach a goal.
