DRUG OF CHOICE

President Barack Obama directed U.S. regulators to gather information from drug-makers about potential shortages so the government can respond before patients’ lives are threatened and help prosecutors head off price gouging.

Ironically, the administration is going after pot growers who provide marijuana to people in pain who prefer a smoke over a drug. Though the government is obligated to oversee the country, money has skewed their vision – the lobbyists for the drug companies.

Once again, what the people want is overruled by what the government insists upon, without logic or recourse. What happened to government for the people and by the people? The Torah is far more democratic than any country because the Torah was given to each person.

Though the Rabbis make the law, the people are free to trust the Rabbis or to look into the Torah and decide on their own; in the end, God is the true judge because only God knows the intention of man. We are judged by God, not on what we do, but on what we intend to do.

America is addicted to pharmaceuticals, cigarettes, alcohol and guns; the human being is vulnerable, easily persuaded to addictive substances and easily manipulated. The government only sanctions what the government controls for the supposed good of the people.
